Peter Dillon, Director of Marketing for New York’s Rockefeller Center, will unveil spectacular and detailed plans for the reopening of the historic observation deck high atop 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The announcement will include visuals of the architectural redesign for Top of the Rock™ observation deck, highlights of the state-of-the-art features, including on-line time ticketing, and plans for the various high-tech and multi-media offerings.
Mr. Dillon has been among those overseeing the innovative renovation of the legendary space, which is being re-opened for the first time in 20 years. Top of the Rock offers visitors stunning 360-degree views of New York City and its most prominent landmarks, from the Chrysler Building and the Statue of Liberty to all of Central Park and the Hudson and East Rivers.
Top of the Rock will be over 55,000 square-feet (16,764 meters) and comprise six striking levels that emulate the grandeur of the original art deco-style architecture throughout Rockefeller Center while also incorporating sleek modern elements such as sky-shuttle elevators and multi-media exhibits, which in addition to a top tourist attraction will make Top of the Rock a spectacular event space.
“We plan on offering an unmatched quality of experience for our visitors,” says Mr. Dillon. “We hope that Top of the Rock will be an inspiring destination for New Yorkers and visitors alike for decades to come and will provide people with an opportunity to appreciate the unique architecture of Rockefeller Center.”
