Its team of architects, engineers, designers, landscapes and builders aim to break down London’s resistance to roof gardens, through examples such as these three below.

URG argues that green spaces encompassing roof gardens, roof terraces and green roofs, bring a host of advantages, including providing better insulation and roof protection, cleaning the air and countering climate change. A pair of Georgian style obilisks and Versailesplanters, trellis and rose columns set the scene for many trees and shrubs to mature. Practical modern furniture helps to complement this classic look.

Below middle – High tech and rustic styles were combined for this roof garden in South Kensington – blending Moorish richness and warmth with the demands of 21st century entertaining. Natural grasses and herbs set the scene for tranquil times relaxing with a chilled glass of wine way above the streets.

Below bottom – Red bricks and red wood were used as a backdrop for this executive oasis of calm perched way above Chelsea.
