16/04/06 Roof Gardens London
Urban Roof Gardens

We can transform the thousands of neglected urban rooftops in London into valuable green spaces in the sky. Benefiting all urban dwellers. Those whose space it is and can enojy it. Those who can see it and can enjoy the green view. And the rest of us who'll enjoy the green benefits of roof gardens.

05/07/05 A Ground Breaking Year For Urban Roof Gardens
Urban Roof Gardens have captured the imagination of the general public in a big way this year. Roof Gardens really are 'the new rock and roll'. I caught up with John Rice co-founder of Urban Roof Gardens Ltd, the London based multi-disiplinary team of architects, engineers, designers, landscapers and builders who solely focus on all aspects of roof gardens, earlier this week to see what they had in store for us this summer.

28/04/05 - Our Newest Section - Urban Picture Gallery
Coming very soon to our urbanroofgardens website will be a section for you all to get involved with.

We live in big cities but its madness! We suffer cramped living conditions, packed commuting, noise, pollution, crime, expensive housing, so claustrophobic, so why do we do it? Of course a roof garden would help but my guess is that it is for those little defining moments of perfection, emotion, vulnerability and drama which are sometimes captured digitally on film to share at a later date with loved ones or friends. A city helps cultivate such events by its very size, pace & excitement.

When property prices in the capital soared, they took gardens with them if you can add value to your home; you can persuade your building
society to free up some giddying spending power. Enter John Rice,
co-founder of Urban Roof Gardens. Coming from an antiques and interiors background, and working with an architect and a horticulturalist, he set up the specialist design agency three years ago.

22/02/05 - The Roof Gardens Kensington London
In 1982 a scruffy-looking Richard Branson tried to get into the nightclub but the doorman turned him away. The following week he returned and on seeing the same doorman said, “I think you might let me in this time as I’m the new owner…” That doorman still works at the Roof gardens today.
